Saudi Arabia assigns 300 medics to holy sites for Hajj season

More than 300 medics with rare specialties have been assigned in various health facilities in Mecca, Medina and other holy sites for this Hajj season, according to Saudi News Agency on Sunday. The deployment of visiting medics comes after the success of such experience in the last Hajj seasons, the General Supervisor of Hajj and Omera Health Services at the Ministry of Health, Dr Taha Al Khataib told the agency. The deployed team consists of 115 ICU, anesthesia, ER and heart consultants and specialists working in Saudi Arabia, in addition to 205 specialists and nurses specialised in bypass, breathing treatment and ICU and ER nursing. The medics were selected through computer software, in which interested specialists and doctors were asked to apply through, Dr Al Khataib said. The Saudi Health Ministry announced earlier about the allocation of 16 health centers at all Saudi borders to ensure Hajj season that is free from contagious diseases.
