Russian airplane delivers medicine and bandages to Syria

An airplane with relief supplies from the Russian Health Ministry has delivered medicines and dressing material to Syria overnight to Sunday. “The airplane has brought 44 tonnes of relief supplies for the population of Syria,” the Russian Embassy told Itar-Tass. Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Health Ministry to give medical aid to Damascus after a telephone conversation with Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad on November 14, Russian president’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Saturday. “Taking into account the information about a hard situation in the health care system in Syria, the Russian president decided to deliver medicines, dressing material and first aid kits to Syria,” Peskov said.
