The regional caravan of awareness against food poisoning has been kicked off Sunday in Oran.
This event comprises ten days of activities aiming at highlighting the law in relation with the protection of the consumer, said Regional director for commerce, Abderrahmane Benhazil.
Presiding over the launch of the campaign, the same official stressed the importance of this operation coinciding with two periods conducive to food poisoning, namely the summer season and the month of Ramadan.
These two periods are marked by the increase in demand for many products, which are most sensitive to heat and therefore holders of risks to consumer health.
"The caravan initiated in accordance with the guidelines of Ministry of Commerce, is precisely to help the public be vigilant when purchasing any food product," he stressed.
