Developmental medicine association and the Faculty of Medicine at Kuwait University are organizing, for the second time, a training program on pediatric medicine.
The program, dubbed "Family Academy of Pediatrics," is to kick off on November 10. It will aim at raising public awareness on children's wellbeing and to enabling communication between the medical staff and family members, head of the association D. Hadeel Al-Faras told KUNA on Tuesday.
It will also shed light on correcting parents' faulty beliefs and behaviors in regards to their children's health, she added.
She pointed out that this program is the first of its kind in Kuwait as well as in the Arab world.
However, the United States has been providing similar programs for the past 20 years.
The program will include workshops and seminars delivered by pediatricians in their various specializations. It will also consist of first aid workshops for the participants.
The program is a five-week long course and will fall on Mondays at 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
