Partial strike by doctors continues for secomd day

A partial strike by doctors continued Wednesday at hospitals and medical units. The strike, which started Tuesday, is not observed at emergency departments. Chairman of the Egyptian Medical Syndicate in Suez said the strike continues at hospitals in the Canal city, adding that it will be staged every Monday and Wednesday until the demands of doctors are met. Egyptian doctors are pressing to amend the budget allocated for the Health Ministry and to have a cadre for physicians. They are also seeking high security measures at government hospitals across Egypt.
