Nakilat has held a series of events to promote cancer awareness among its staff. Qatar Cancer Society conducted the awareness sessions, including one for women only, at Nakilat’s head office in Doha recently. Nakilat employees received practical information about the early warning signs for different kinds of cancer, as well as guidance on lifestyle choices that may affect the likelihood of developing cancer. Nakilat managing director Mohamed Ghannam said: “Nakilat’s cancer awareness sessions are part of our commitment to the welfare of our employees and their families. We hope the guidance provided by Qatar Cancer Society will help our people lead long and healthy lives.” Deputy managing director Abdullah al-Sulaiti said, “Early detection can be crucial in the fight against cancer. By informing our employees of cancer’s early warning signs and by advising them of steps that can be taken to help prevent cancer, Nakilat is making a contribution towards long-term health in the State of Qatar.” Having thanked Qatar Cancer Society and its chairman HE Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Jabor al-Thani, Nakilat and its employees pledged to support Qatar Cancer Society’s goals. “Thanks to Qatar Cancer Society, our employees are now armed with a better understanding of cancer, which will enable them to actively promote both cancer awareness and the work of Qatar Cancer Society in Qatar,” Ghannam added.
