The return of school days is more emotionally tolling for mom than kids; she is the saddest when classes start, a U.S. survey indicates. Plum District, a Web community of mothers, conducted an online survey of more than 2,400 of its members last June, and found 40 percent of moms said they were the saddest family member when kids went back to school, followed by the kids at 33 percent and the family dog at 21 percent. No mention was made of dads. The top reason moms said they were worried about their kids going back to school was whether or not their kids would have a good teacher, their second-biggest worry was their child being bullied. Fifty-four percent of the moms said they were likely to cry on the first day of school, while 57 percent said they would likely tuck a hidden note into their kids' bags on their first day of school. The best part of mom's day once kids are back at school was dinner -- 37 percent said they enjoyed it when the entire family was back together at dinner. No margin of error was provided.
