Safety and health of the citizens and residents of the country constitute "a red line that must not be breached," the Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Municipality Affairs stressed on Monday. The municipality staff are working round the clock to monitor breaches of the laws and punish the violators, namely those dealing in food supplies, said Dr. Fadhel Safar in a statement to KUNA.Special teams have been demolishing expired supplies, he said, emphasizing that the authorities were enforcing the law justly with no consideration to nepotism. The minister made the assertion against the background of recent seizure of three tons of rotten meat at a restaurant in Hawalli. Up to 940 kg of invalid milk and peppers were seized and confiscated at a store in Salmiya. The teams have also seized large amounts of vegetables, fruits, melons and diary products, displayed by vendors in several areas. Authorities urge the citizens and residents to report about those vendors who sell products unhealthy for human consumption.
