A roadshow under the ‘Kulluna for Health and Safety’ campaign will be held at the Landmark Mall for three days starting from tomorrow. Inspired by Qatar Vision 2030 and sponsored by ConocoPhillips Qatar in partnership with Hamad International Training Centre (HITC), the Kulluna campaign aims to raise awareness in the community about preventable injuries and illnesses, to improve health and wellbeing and give information about the medical services and facilities offered by the government healthcare provider, Hamad Medical Corporation. ‘Kulluna’, which means ‘All of us’, is based on the belief that everyone can take action to improve health, wellbeing and safety for themselves, their family and the community. Dr Khalid Abdulnoor Saifeldeen, director, HITC, said: “The first part of the campaign is dedicated to child safety through a target campaign titled “Keep us safe!”. We chose to start with water safety because the statistics show that in Qatar we could do much more to protect children from the dangers of water. A child can drown in less than two minutes in as little as 5cm of water in absolute silence.” Drowning is a leading cause of death and serious disability in children in Qatar. Dr Saifeldeen explained that with the roadshows, the partners aim to raise awareness on the dangers of water and what families can do to keep their children safe. “Those parents who visited us in City Center mall before Eid break were able to talk to medical professionals and safety experts and the children had fun playing interactive educational games featuring our safety heroes ‘Salem and Salm’, the Kulluna campaign mascots. All of this will be available again at Landmark and we hope to meet more families there,” he added. When launching the first roadshow, ConocoPhillips Qatar president Gary Sykes emphasised that health and safety are two core commitments at ConocoPhillips saying: “It is our company goal to eliminate all injury, occupational illness, unsafe practice and environmental harm from our activities. We believe strongly that our work is never so urgent or important that we cannot take the time to do it safely and in an environmentally responsible manner. Our Spirit values – safety, people, integrity, responsibility, innovation and teamwork inspire all our actions and place wellness and safety firmly at the head of our corporate priorities. It is those values we hope to spread and foster through “Kulluna” and we are proud to be sponsoring this five-year nationwide campaign.” The Kulluna roadshow will be at the Landmark Mall on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 4pm to 9pm each day and will be located close to the food court.
