
Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialization (KIMS) of the Ministry of Health, honored on Sunday 97 graduates of the 2013-14 academic year, all of them earned their Boards and Fellowships in specialty training.
"His Highness the Prime Minister is following and supportive of whatever directly contributes to the development of medical services and hone skills of doctors and medical staff," Health Minister Dr. Ali Al-Obaidi said in a speech on the occasion.
KIMS is the authority responsible for organizing all aspects of postgraduate training of medical practitioners and other health professionals in Kuwait.
Pointing out that upcoming development of the ministry might need making some "conclusive" decisions, Minister Al-Obaidi stressed that the next phase should see "abidance to ethics and professional commitments." KIMS was established in 1984 under an Amiri decree. The institute is engaged in a variety of activities, including the organization of internship training of pre-registration medical graduates, specialty training at various levels in different medical fields, and continuing medical education programs for health professionals practicing in Kuwait.
