Kuwaiti Ambassador to Sudan Talal Al-Hajri has signed a contract for expanding a Kuwaiti-funded children's hospital in Kasalla State in eastern Sudan.
The contract was signed by the Kuwait Patients Helping Fund and the Sudanese Health Ministry in Khartoum on Sunday in presence of Kuwaiti Ambassador to Sudan Talal Mansour Al-Hajri.
Addressing the signing ceremony, the ambassador said Kasalla children's hospital, which was funded by Kuwait in 1988, serves a large number of children in eastern Sudan.
The clinic expansion project is part of several other medical and humanitarian activities pledged by Kuwait during an international donor conference for Sudan held in Kuwait in 2010, Al-Hajri added.
The Kuwaiti ambassador highly appreciated the great role played by the Kuwait Patients Helping Fund in the provision of great medical services to Sudanese people.
For his part, Undersecretary of the Sudanese Health Ministry Esam Ahmad said his country highly acclaims Kuwait's relentless humanitarian support for the Sudanese people.
