
Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer announced on Monday that the society will launch a charity event next Friday to highlight dangers of viral hepatitis, its causes, prevention and treatment.
Al-Sayer told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that hepatitis is not an epidemic in Kuwait, but the likelihood of the spread of the infection is high, considering that many do not realize its grave dangers and some may have had the bacteria and transmit it to others unintentionally.
Al-Sayer stressed the need to raise public awareness of the disease, urging for positive interact with the campaign for the best of all.
He expressed deep thanks to all donors who supported the humanitarian project to combat Hepatitis.
Defined by the inflammation of the liver and characterized by the presence of inflammatory cells in the tissue of the organ, hepatitis may occur with limited or no symptoms, but often leads to yellow discoloration of the skin, poor appetite and malaise.
