Iran among top 10 countries in plastic surgery

Iran is among top ten countries in the field of plastic surgery, said head of 15 Khordad Ultra-Specialized Plastic Surgery Center. Talking to IRNA, Abdel-Jalil Kalantar-Hormozi added that today, few Iranians leave for abroad for plastic surgery, and even in most cases Iranian expatriates and foreigners visit Iran for the purpose. He also said that his center which is affiliated to Shahid Beheshti University is one of the main and credited centers of plastic surgery in the country, region and even in the world. He also called for expansion of the center both in terms of quality and quantity. Plastic surgery is a medical specialty concerned with the correction or restoration of form and function. Though cosmetic or aesthetic surgery is the best-known kind of plastic surgery, most plastic surgery is not cosmetic: plastic surgery includes many types of microsurgery and the treatment of burns.
