
The Heart-to-Heart campaign yesterday launched its global humanitarian initiative in Egypt through the treatment of hundreds of children and the elderly. The initiative is a joint charitable venture by the Zayed Giving Initiative, the Saudi German Hospital and the Dar Al Ber Charity and others.
The initiative is directed by a medical team and surgeons of the UAE-Egyptian-Saudi volunteer group chaired by Emirati heart surgeon, Dr. Adel Al Shamri.
Dr. Reem Othman, Executive Director of the Saudi German Hospital said that The Heart-to-heart campaign and which is continues for four days, is aimed to increase the Egyptian community awareness of the significant heart disease and provide better ways of prevention and treatment. She also added that the campaign is aimed at developing a partnership between voluntary institutions, and UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabian health institutions to enable medical staff volunteer to perform free operations for poor children and elderly in a number of heart diseases.
