
State Minister for Defence Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Health Council Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received today Director General of the GCC Health Ministers Council Executive Bureau Dr. Tawfiq bin Ahmed Khoujah on the occasion of his visit to Bahrain.
Dr. Khoujah took part in launching Bahrain Health Insurance Forum and Expo 2014 which will be held next December under the patronage of the State Minister for Defence Affairs with a large-scale participation from Bahrain and abroad.
The State Minister for Defence Affairs discussed with Dr. Khoujah ways of bolstering cooperation with the GCC Health Ministers Council Executive Bureau mainly in bringing together health insurance experts at the forum slated for next December.
Dr. Shaikh Mohammed underlined the key role of the forum in raising public awareness of the importance of the National Health Insurance Programme which is aimed at optimising health services amid major challenges facing the sector.
He said the forum will spotlight the efforts of Bahrain leadership and government to provide the best health services, lauding the directives of HRH the Premier and the support of HRH the Crown Prince in launching the National Health Insurance Programme by the Supreme Health Council.
On his part, Dr. Khoujah thanked the State Minister for Defence Affairs for the warm welcome and hospitality, praising Bahrain's initiatives to develop health systems. He said the forum is in line with international trends to boost people's welfare.
