The food control department of the Dubai Municipality launched a food safety awareness initiative on Sunday. Taking place at the Dubai Municipality Club, the initiative targeted approved voluntary training and food organisations, and aimed at educating outlets about the method of executing the food safety awareness programme. A presentation identified the target groups, methods used and results of previously executed events along with requirements to be followed up. The hotline of the municipality (800900) was also announced to the participants. “Through such meetings the civic body seeks to obtain positive results by providing information and services required to promote awareness,” Khalid Mohammed Sherif, Director of Food Control Department said. The meeting also included an open discussion session, in which participants promised support for the initiatives.
