The Ministry of Health is preparing a field study of the master plan of the Medical City in terms of identifying the health institutions to be in that city of hospitals and medical specialized diagnostic centres, stages of future expansion, in pursuant to the Royal Directives of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said to establish the Medical City, to provide advanced medical care services in an integrated manner to the Sultanate's population, having been allocated 5 million square meters a piece of land needed for the vital project in Al Fulaij in the Wilayat of Barka. Following the completion of this study, integrated scheme of this city will be put, which describes the projects and services necessary for their construction, which will include a hospital for subspecialties, and a children's Hospital, a hospital for accidents and emergency, a hospital for head and neck surgery, and transplant centre and central complex for Imaging, central complex for diagnostic laboratories and medical rehabilitation centre, in addition to future expansions in preparation for the financial estimates for this vitally important health edifice.
