Health authorities in China said they have confiscated two tons of Ikea Swedish chocolate cakes after finding high levels of intestinal bacteria in them. High levels of coliform bacteria were found in a shipment of the Ikea almond chocolate cakes, Swedish News Agency TT said. The shipment arrived in Shanghai from Sweden in January. The bacteria is found in the feces of warm-blood animals and commonly used as a indicator for the sanitary testing of food and water. Ikea spokeswoman Ylva Magnusson said that the company is attempting to get more information. "We buy chocolate from one supplier. That it's of high quality, that checks are carried out in all warehouses, and that rules are followed are obviously all important questions," Magnusson told TT. The news comes just a week after horse meat was found in Ikea's Swedish meatballs.
