
The 28th round of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Regional Conference for Africa began Monday in Tunisia at the level of experts ahead of the ministerial level on Thursday, which runs for two further days. Ministers of agriculture from 46 countries, 300 experts and civil society representatives are taking part in the conference that takes place in Tunisia for the first time.Held under the theme of African youth in agriculture and development, participants will discuss issues related to African youth in the fields of commerce, agriculture, country development, and food situation in the continent.They will also discuss the implementation of a comprehensive program in agricultural development with focus on owners of small enterprises and family farming as well as issues of priority such as food security, starvation, poverty and youth employment opportunities.
