The total number of deaths and critical injuries caused by the traffic accidents in the outposts in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi had dropped in the first third of this year by 45 per cent to 71 deaths and by 34 per cent to 70 critical injuries, compared to corresponding period last year. Colonel Hamad Nasser Al Baloushi, Director of External Roads Traffic Department at Abu Dhabi Police, said the improvements in the deaths and serious injuries' indices follow the implementation of police initiatives and integral methodology on the traffic safety to curb the traffic accidents. He added that the Abu Dhabi Police implement the awareness programmes and activities to help motorists abide by the traffic laws and safety guides.
