
Health Minister, Sadiq bin Abdul-Karim Al-Shehabi, today, received Professor Eric Theior of Germany, to review means of developing health services provided for sickle cell anemia patients. The Health Minister welcomed and thanked Professor Theior for responding to his invitation, and briefed him on health services provided for sickle cell anemia patients and treatment procedure. He underscored the wise leadership’s interest in providing best treatments, as well as the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister, to provide high quality services for this category. Field visits have been organized for Professor Theior to be acquainted with the treatment followed for patients of sickle cell anemia and a detailed report will be organized at the end of the visits, by Professor Theior, summarizes means to improve health services provided for them. Professor Theior appreciated the fine hospitality, and praised the Health Ministry’s interest in improving services provided for sickle cell anemia patients, as well as his medical team’s readiness to shoulder responsibility in this consultative task, and promised to exert top efforts to reach best results for the benefit of these patients. The meeting was attended by Health Acting Undersecretary, Dr. Mariam Athbi Al-Jalahma and Health Director of the Department of Public and International Relations, Abdul-Aziz Al-Rifai.
