
The Blood Disease Centre will open on January 16, said Health Minister Sadiq bin Abdulkarim Al-Shehabi. He announced the inaugural date as he inspected the new medical facility in the company of Assistant-Undersecretary for Hospital Affairs, Assistant-Undersecretary for Financial Affairs and other senior officials.The BD4.7 million- Blood Disease Centre is located at the Salmaniya Medical Complex, Bahrain's largest hospital. The Health Ministry allocated major bulk of BD3 million to construct the new milestone, in addition to a substantial BD1.25 million to purchase medical equipment and furniture.The four-storey facility, which has a capacity of ninety beds, provides premium medical services to diagnose and treat genetic diseases. The minister underscored the importance of the new centre, which heralds a new phase in combating blood diseases in Bahrain.
