
Health Minister Sadiq bin AbdulKareem Al-Shehabi on Wednesday received the Head of Hajj and Omrah Affairs, Sheikh AbdulNasser Abdullah; and, the Head of of the Kingdom of Bahrain's Hajj Mission's Medical Commission, Dr. Ali Al-Baqara.
The meeting reviewed the necessary preparations ahead of the Hajj season 1435H.
The Minister emphasized the provision of all the requirements and supplies that facilitate the work of the Hajj Mission and protect hajj pilgrims from diseases before, during and after performing their hajj rituals and in order to prevent the introduction of diseases into the Kingdom of Bahrain upon return to the Homeland.
The Minister praised the attendees' efforts in serving hajj pilgrims, starting from health awareness campaigns, orientation lectures which inform hajj pilgrims about disease prevention and taking vaccinations from health centres (HCs) early so that vaccines can begin to take effect before starting their journey. Hajj pilgrims from Bahrain as well as from the Gulf will be received at the designated locations upon arrival and will be followed up until the time they come back home safely, the meeting stressed.
The meeting discussed some matters pertaining to the procedures of medical committee in order to cope with patient cases with focus on how to deal with any case(s) of coronavirus or Ebola if any such case could be detected among Bahraini hajj pilgrims - God forbids.
