
The Arab health ministers have today concluded their 43rd session in Egypt. Health Minister Sadiq bin Abdelkarim Al-Shehabi attended the two-day session which started yesterday at the Arab League General-Secretariat headquarters in Cairo.
Addressing the session, the minister stressed Bahrain's ongoing constant cooperation with other countries, particularly the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states to coordinate bulk purchasing of medication. The Arab delegations were updated on Bahrain's health strides.
The minister pointed out the reduction in the number of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) cases, stressing the ongoing efforts to achieve zero cases in Bahrain. Bahrain's delegation joined the other participants in discussing key issues featuring on the meeting agenda, particularly efforts to contain the outbreak of Ebola virus, health legislations, Arab strategies to improve mothers' health and combat aids.
