
The Albanian citizens in the 40-65 age group will be provided with free medical checks once a year, said Albanian Minister of Health Ilir Beqaj at a government meeting on Wednesday here. According to Beqaj, the medical checkup will be covered by the healthcare insurance scheme. The package contains general assessment of health condition, counseling, treatment and follow-up, assessment and therapy of bio-chemical parameters. Prevention of several diseases such as hypertension, obesity and some other chronic illnesses will be part of this new project. Beqaj invited Albanians to develop individual healthy responsibilities towards society and suggested people visit once a year free health center and make basic control. The checkup will be provided in over 400 outpatient clinics and health centers across the country.
