
Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Medical Services Dr. Mohammad Al-Khashti on Tuesday honored doctors of Kuwait center for psychological health. Addressing the ceremony on this occasion on behalf of Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Minister of Health Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Sabah, Dr. Al-Khashti said the world attached great importance to psychological health due to its great impact on the public health and the safety of societies. "Psychological health has a direct relation to the concept of social development," he said, noting that the psychological health has specific appropriations in the state budgets of many countries. "There is urgent need to improve healthcare for people with psychological disorders because this reflects the medical advancement and is in keeping with the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO)," he pointed out. Dr. Al-Khashti affirmed the keenness of the Ministry of Health on attaching greate care for this branch of medicine. On his part, director of the center Dr. Adel Al-Zayed said the Ministry of Health honoring of medical and nursing staff of the center was in recognition for their efforts in improving healthcare for patients. "The honoring ceremony is part of the Ministry's activities to mark the World Mental Health Day which falls on October 10," Dr. Al-Zayed added. He thanked the Minister of Health and other leaders of the Ministry for their constant support to the center and improve healthcare countrywide.
