Abu Dhabi Police ambulance
Abu Dhabi - WAM

The Abu Dhabi Police's first response ambulance provided medical care and treatment for 1,346 patients during the past seven months in various regions of Abu Dhabi. Using the latest medical equipment, some cases were treated by medical staff at the site of the accident and were not transferred to a hospital. ??Captain Khaled Al Ka'bi, Deputy Chief of the Ambulance Section at the Emergency and Public Safety Department of the General Directorate of Central Operation at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, said, "The medical staff, which are comprise a doctor and paramedics, are authorised by the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi to use 38 different treatments to treat ‘First Response' cases. These are the same treatments utilised by hospital emergency rooms, which is a quantum leap for ambulance services.”??He pointed out that in some cases, patients who have not been immediately treated receive first aid and necessary medical care until they are stabilised and transferred to a hospital where they can complete their treatment. He stressed that the prompt provision of first aid helps stabilise the patient's condition, reduces complications, and facilitates the process of their transfer to the nearest hospital.??He mentioned that the first response vehicle was introduced to the service in 2004, and due to its ability to reach the site of the incident quickly, it reduces the burden on large ambulances. The first response vehicle is able to quickly respond to calls from the Abu Dhabi Police Operations Room, handle injuries before the arrival of the ambulance vehicles, and provide the best medical services, care, and treatments for emergencies. ?
Captain Al Ka'bi continued, "Ambulance vehicles, including first responders, work non-stop 24 hours-a-day. They swiftly reach the site of accidents to minimise response time and the implications of the injuries- as this is a very important part of work of the emergency department.”
