3064 register for new hepatitis C cure in Qalyubia

As many as 3,064 patients have applied to receive the Sovaldi drug treatment for hepatitis C in Qalyubia, said a senior Health Ministry's official on Wednesday.
The drug doses will be provided to them in mid-November, said the head of the viral Hepatitis center of Banha Fever Hospital Gamal Maged.
Egypt has the highest rate of hepatitis C infections in the world, with a total of around 12 million Egyptians currently infected.
