Some 26,000 paramedics will be trained during the period from 2014 to 2018, said Wednesday in Algiers Head of training section at the Ministry of Health, Population and Hospital Reform, Prof. Moussa Aradha.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Ministry on training and research in the health sector, Aradha revealed that a rich program of paramedic training was set up to overcome the deficit recorded by the sector in this area.
In this regard, he announced the creation of new specialties to meet the changes facing society.
Among the specialties created, Pr Aradha mentioned the medical emergencies including transportation of road accident victims, the psychological care of victims of natural disasters and tropical diseases.
In addition, the same official highlighted the quality of the training provided by the ministry in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
52,000 paramedics from different specialties were trained the period 2004-2013.
