
Two new human H7N9 cases were reported on Saturday in south China's Guangdong Province, according to a statement from the provincial center of disease control and prevention. One patient is a 29-year-old man surnamed Pan, who is a vendor selling bean curd at a market in Tianhe District of Guangzhou. Pan became sick on Jan. 3 and was hospitalized at a local hospital on Thursday. He is in critical condition, the statement said. Another patient is a 76-year-old man surnamed Zhao in Shenzhen. Zhao fell ill on Jan. 3 and was also hospitalized on Thursday. He is in stable condition, it said. So far, Guangdong has confirmed 14 human H7N9 cases since August in 2013. Two of them have recovered while one patient in Dongguan City, surnamed He, died on Monday after being treated in a local hospital for about three weeks.
