Cucumbers are used to garnish instead of olives in this refreshing twist on the classic Martini
Ingredients
50ml sugar syrup (buy ready-made, or make your own - see tip, below)
10 thin slices cucumber, plus 4 ribbons sliced with a vegetable peeler
large bunch mint, stems removed
1 tbsp dry vermouth
150ml gin
Method
Chill two Martini glasses. Put all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker or jug (except the cucumber ribbons), along with a handful of ice. Shake or mix well to combine, then strain the liquid into the glasses. Garnish with the cucumber ribbons, bunched up and threaded onto a cocktail stick.
