Egyptian Ambassador in Seoul Hany Selim has said that cooperation between Egypt and South Korea witnessed an unprecedented leap as a result of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit to Seoul last year.

In statements to MENA, the ambassador said Cairo is currently reaping the fruits of Sisi's successful visit to S.Korea.

He pointed out to the enhanced cooperation between the two sides in various fields, especially in the economic field.

The Egyptian diplomat explained that Sisi had met with a number of senior officials and chairmen of several major companies in S.Korea, adding that they perceived the president's desire to establish real cooperation with S.korea based on mutual benefit for both parties.

Selim highlighted that Sisi supervised the signing of 17 memorandums of understanding between Cairo and Seoul in different fields, including transportation, energy and infrastructure, railway, mining, petroleum, sanitation and seawater desalination.

He revealed that the volume of S.Korea's investments in Egypt exceeds $300 million.
