Abu Dhabi - Arab Today

The Armed Forces’ training system is essential for preparing UAE forces to face challenges, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed said during a visit to a military camp.
Sheikh Mohammed, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, visited the Presidential Guard Training Centre at Mahawi Military Camp on Monday.
There, he opened the Joint Fire Pavilion at the Advanced Training School, saying the UAE is moving forward in developing its military and defence capabilities, reported Wam, the state news agency.
The facilities at the centre include simulators to train recruits on the skills of final attack controllers.
Sheikh Mohammed also saw live training scenarios and a practical display by recruits who fired mortars on targets. He urged the trainees to continue to develop their skills.
He was accompanied by Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed, Deputy Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation.
Mohammed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Staff Lt Gen Hamad Al Rumaithi, Armed Forces Chief of Staff, Staff Lt Gen Juma Al Bowardi Al Falasi, adviser to the Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Presidential Guard commanders also accompanied Sheikh Mohammed during the visit.
