H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated, on Wednesday, the new Sharjah Archaeology Authority, SAA, headquarters located at Al Abar in the Emirate of Sharjah.

After the unveiling, His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah, toured the building halls, which contain a collection of archaeological artefacts discovered in various cities and regions of the emirate. H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed also listened to an explanation about these acquisitions and their years of discovery, as well as their historical and archaeological significance.

During the opening ceremony, Dr. Sabah Abboud Jassim, Director-General of the SAA, delivered a speech in which he expressed his thanks and appreciation to H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi for his continuous support of the various efforts undertaken by the authority in the realm of archaeological excavation and preservation.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and an accompanying audience viewed a documentary film about the history of antiquities in Sharjah and the oldest discoveries dating back thousands of years.

Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed also received a commemorative gift from the SAA Director-General in recognition of his continued support.
