A red carpet reception was held at the Egyptian presidential palace on Monday for Singaporean President Tony Tain, who arrived in Cairo on Sunday on a three-day visit.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi led senior officials welcoming the guest.

The national anthems of Egypt and Singapore were played during the ceremony then the Singaporean president reviewed the guards of honor. 

The visit coincides with the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties between Egypt and Singapore and is the first by a Singaporean president to Egypt in 20 years.
