Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, has stressed the importance of meetings that deal with the efforts of intellectuals, thinkers, and writers in community building.

Sheikh Nahyan made the statement while receiving a large number of writers, poets and members of the Emirates Writers Union in the presence of Afra Al Sabri, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development, and Habib Al Sayegh, Chairman of the Union.

During the meeting, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak welcomed the attendees and expressed his pleasure at meeting with them, pointing to the important and active role played by writers and intellectuals in the promotion of societies.

He also stressed the ministry's keenness to overcome all the challenges that may face the cultural, literary, and publication fields, expressing his personal willingness to participate in various cultural and literary meetings, events and forums in the country.

The Minister hailed the continuous support provided by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for culture and intellectuals. He also offered thanks to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, for his active role in supporting the cultural sector and his quest to achieve the UAE's renaissance.

He expressed his thanks and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, for his active role in the field of cultural development, and also thanked Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and the Rulers of the Emirates, for their on-going efforts in the cultural sector.
