Abu Dhabi - Arab Today

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, has said the youth empowerment strategy is on track to achieve its ultimate goal by directing the state policies towards the youth sector to harness their energies so as to contribute effectively to comprehensive development.

Sheikh Nahyan made the remarks while launching a dedicated website for the national youth empowerment strategy at GITEX in the presence of Afra Al Saberi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development, and a number of visitors.

He noted that the strategic objective is to unify the efforts of Emirati youth and empower them to serve themselves, their families, community and their homeland.

Sheikh Nahyan thanked President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his shrewd vision and wise directives to take more interest in the youth sector. He also commended Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, for his significant role and initiatives to empower the youth. Sheikh Nahyan praised His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, for boosting the youth role in the community, along with Members of Supreme Council, Their Highnesses Rulers of the Emirates.

He said the new website highlights the most important areas of work of the youth empowerment strategy, in addition to information needed by the young people and interested members of the public and the professional sector. It also includes a survey site under the name "survey youth views." This will be the first scientific survey of young people's views in the UAE on various issues of concern to them. They can post their views via the website.

Sheikh Nahyan added that the website would avail an opportunity to follow the steps on implementation of the strategy and communicate with those in charge directly or through social network such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
