Prime Minister Sherif Ismail left Riyadh on Wednesday, returning to Cairo following the first meeting of the joint Egyptian-Saudi coordination committee.

The meeting tackled fields of cooperation and the desire to carry out initiatives, projects and agreements concluded in the Cairo Declaration.

Sherif and Deputy Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman co-chaired the meeting. The prince asserted that a strong Egyptian role gives a message of assurances to the whole region.

He said there are joint Egyptian-Saudi efforts to face mutual economic and security challenges.

An agreement was reached to hold sub-committees of coordination in Cairo on December 13.
