Culture Minister Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa tonight opened a splendid artistic show titled “The Pearl Route”. The event is part of the “Manama, Capital of Arab Culture”, being held under the auspices of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa. Her Royal Highness Princess Noof bint Faisal bin Turki bin Abdulla Al-Saud, HRH Princess Masha’el bint Mohammed bin Saud Al-Saud, princesses, diplomats, journalists and culture savvies attended the artistic festivity at the Bahrain National Museum. Shaikha Mai stressed the importance of the event which epitomizes Bahrain’s long-dated civilization and celebrates the concepts of amity and peace through the common languages of culture and art. She stressed the efforts undertaken on all levels to promote “Manama, Capital of Arab Culture”, including shuttle trips to Arab and foreign capitals to hold press conferences announcing the event. She pointed out particularly the promotional film produced by the Ministry of Culture. The documentary is now being telecast in all Arab TV channels. AHN
