Charbel: Leaders striving to absorb wrath

Politicians strive to absorb wrath of the street, caretaker minister of the Interior Marwan Charbel, told Voice of Lebanon radio station morning talkshow today. Various politicians belonging to different religious sects are inclined to nip strife targeting the whole country in the bud, the minister added. Since all areas of Lebanon are not excluded, it is high time to act quickly in order to preempt looming chaos that might entail effective partitioning of the country he warned. Unfortunately however all incoming responses from field commanders in Tripoli seem not all too encouraging, Charbel admitted. Forming a new government seemingly bypassed Lebanese will by becoming intertwined with regional factors, he concluded.
