Bahrain hosts World MMA Championship
Manama - Egypt Today

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, Honorary President of the Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF), stressed the importance of the Kingdom's hosting of various international tournaments which helps establish Bahrain's position on the international sports scene, and is an ideal way to promote the Kingdom abroad as well as contributing to the advancement of the overall level of Bahraini sport as a result interacting with world players coming to the Kingdom.

The Kingdom of Bahrain will host the BRAVE International Combat Week, which includes the World Mixed Martial Arts Championship and continues until November 19, under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and organized by the BMMAF, and Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and the supervision of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF).

HH Shaikh Khalid said: "The follower of the second day of the tournament is fully aware that Bahrain's organization is the best in all respects. Day after day, the championship proves the inability to predict the identity of the fighter eligible for the title. All levels are close and everyone is strong and courageous and has set his sights on achieving the title".

As for the national team, His Highness reiterated his confidence in the fighters. "The Bahrain team has strong and strong fighters and they have the international experience to compete for the championship titles and we look forward to Bahrain having a good share of world championships. We know the championship is difficult but we trust the capabilities of our fighters and their keenness to honor Bahrain".

"I have followed with great interest the progress of the fighters on the second day of the championship, and it was successful in enabling our fighters to achieve important victories leading them to the second round of the championship, and giving them full confidence towards competing for the title. Some fighters have shown excellent levels, but were not lucky in achieving victory; we wish them success in the coming bouts".

His Highness invited sports fans to follow the World Championship and to enjoy the outstanding artistic performances expected by the selected national and international fighters.

His Highness stood behind all the players, which had a good impact on them presenting good technical levels, which contributes to the positive results and achievements that strengthen the Kingdom of Bahrain's status amongst the competing countries in the tournament.

HH Shaikh Khalid directed that entry to the Khalifa Sports City Stadium be free of charge to the public at the World Championships in order to allow the fans to enjoy the fighting amongst the players of the world on the one hand, and on the other hand to get our players the support they deserve.

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa praised the role played by the audience in the results of their countries, considering the role of the audiences as being highly effective in the first two days of the tournament.
