Arab League Secretary General Nabil el Araby left here Wednesday for Rome to attend the Mediterranean Dialogues.

The three-day event, to open Thursday, will discuss regional crises and lay the foundation for a ''positive future agenda''.

According to a statement by the Arab League, Araby will leave Rome for Brussels to attend a special meeting on Palestine on December 16.

The meeting will be attended by the foreign ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan to stand on the latest developments of the Middle East peace process and the two-state solution.

Araby will also be meeting with European Union foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini, it added.
