Abu Zeid denies statements on irrigation ministry
Cairo - Arab Today

Former Egyptian irrigation minister Mahmoud Abu Zeid denied media reports that statements by Irrigation Minister Mohamed Abdel Aati during the technical negotiations on the Ethiopia dam on water surplus would serve Ethiopia's interests and harm Egypt.

In a message to the Irrigation Ministry, Abu Zeid denied delivering any statements having to do with the ministry or its officials concerning water resources.

Media has previously mishandled statements by Abdel Ati on water resources.

The minister said that Egypt suffers an 18 billion cubic meter water shortage and this contradicts media claims on water surplus.
