Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas renewed his commitment to the choice of peace upon the two-state solution. He added that it is the only way to achieve peace to establish the Palestinian state on 1967 borders to pave the way for concluding a final peace agreement with Israel.
The statements came during a press conference held by the Palestinian president with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin on Friday.
He added that he briefed the German chancellor on the recent developments, including the recent moves taken by U.S President Donald Trump to achieve peace between the Israelis and Palestinians. He added, “We appreciate these efforts and look forward to their repercussions.”
He also expressed his appreciation to the efforts exerted by the German government to prepare the infrastructure and the institutions of the state of Palestine upon the recommendations issued by Paris Conference.
