IAA's President during receiving a delegation of Supreme Council for Women (SCW) President of Information Affairs Authority, Ali Mohammad Al-Rumaihi (IAA), underlined IAA's participation as a strategic partner in supporting and empowering Bahraini women politically, economically and socially, and to accentuate women's contributions to the legal and development achievements have taken place during the prosperous era of HM the King.
IAA's President, during receiving a delegation of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) led by Assistant Secretary-General Dhawiyah Al-Alawi, in the presence of a number of IAA's officials, reviewed ways of bolstering joint cooperation and raising awareness on Bahraini women's rights and the integration of their needs in development programmes in the context of equality and equal opportunities, in line with media strategy and the national strategy for the advancement of Bahraini women.
He commended the SCW's achievements and efforts, since its inception under the chairmanship of HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, in enhancing Bahraini women's status as a serious partner in promoting reforms and development process.
Al-Alawi underscored the SCW's keenness to strengthen partnership with all government and legislative institutions and civil society organizations for the implementation of the national strategy plan for the advancement of Bahraini women (2013 - 2022) and the recommendations of the Second National Conference of Bahraini women on the integration of women's needs in development.
Al-Alawi praised the establishment of the Equal Opportunities Unit in government's institutions, including the Information Affairs Authority.
