Dr. Maytha bint Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State, has reviewed the efforts exerted by H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, in the field of empowering women economically.

This came during the 2015 Global Summit of Women organised from May 14th–16th, 2015 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, under the patronage of Dilma Rousseff, President of Brazil. The event, held under the logo "Creative Women - Creative Economies," was aimed at encouraging innovation in the economic field, especially the women's economic projects which contribute to enhancing their countries' economy, as well as providing innovative solutions to promote the economic status of women across the world. The event also witnessed the participation of 30 ministers from all over the world.

During the first day of the event, Dr. Al Shamsi, while attending a ministerial session, gave a presentation on Sheikha Fatima's efforts as "Mother of the Nation" in the field of empowering women through economic projects, especially projects related to the UAE heritage.

The participants in the ministerial session praised the efforts exerted by Sheikha Fatima to support and empower women. They also expressed their admiration at Sheikha Fatima's projects as well as her continuous follow up to develop such projects.

The theme of the conference, "Creative Women, Creative Economies," reflects the innovation and creativity that women bring to the global marketplace.

The event provided a platform for dedicated policy-makers, business leaders and entrepreneurs to discuss some of the global concerns and exchange experiences on how to improve corporate management and the economy.
