Calvin Klein collection
New York- Arabstoday
Calvin Klein's creative director Francisco Costa presented a striking collection at New York Fashion Week. The Fall/Winter 2012 collection was an austere collection with models having minimalist looks with bare faces
and ponytails. Wearing apparels mostly in the black color palette, they appeared like Rooney Mara in the "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo".
The label created the collection for a woman who can seduce and charm with intelligence and strength, but without wearing anything too tight or revealing. In fact, Costa purposely created a looser hourglass shape for this muse that gives room to move and breathe, sculpting stiff wool fabrics into outfits with rounded jewel necklines and a little extra fabric at the hips.
The opening looks were in coal black but this somber palette was relieved, subtly at first, by touches such as a slither of vanilla set into the stiff box pleat of a skirt, so that it winked as the wearer moved, and later by singing tones of rich coral pinks and orange.
The collection presented a mix of ladylike silhouettes with a modern edge, and it was the last major show at the 2012 New York Fashion Week, thus attracted a number of celebrities.
