Egyptian actress Hanan Motawea
Casablanca - Yousra Mostafa

Egyptian actress Hanan Motawea Egyptian actress Hanan Motawea said that she is not afraid of the Islamists’ ruling in Egypt. In her interview with Arabstoday in Morocco she talked about her reasons for finally choosing an artistic path. The young actress described her joy at Morsi's election - she kneeled on the floor to thank God when she heard that Shafik lost the presidential race. She said the Egyptian revolution was only starting then.
She said: “we had a choice between two candidates. I never supported the Muslim Brotherhood, but Shafik’s winning was not acceptable at all. He would have left Egypt to go back to corruption after hundreds of people died to free the country. You can't say you're sad that Shafik lost, when he declared Mubarak was his role model."
She added: “I think that the current president will remain for 4 years only. In my opinion he did a very good job for the Egyptians, Muslims or Christians. He respects freedom and works on making a real change Egypt and to rebuild the country."
Hanan said that she is not afraid of “whoever wants to cover her hair with a veil, but I am afraid of those who want to put veil on my mind and heart I’ll stand up to anyone who tries to force me to do anything I don't agree with."
Onto a lighter topic, she talks about her cinema work: “I am looking for the role that will highlight my energy and my talents. I think a real artist should be like clay."
She added: "I never wanted to have the job as my mum and dad, I refused to be like them. I feared that if I bacame an actress I would be popular only because my parents are well-known. I did a degree in business instead, but I dropped it and went on to study drama instead. When I became more famous people thought i was the daughter of the journalist Abdel Wahab Motawea, not the late actor Karam Motawea."
