Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) has won the Dubai Human Development Appreciation Award at the 2013 cycle of the Dubai Human Development Award (DHDA), an initiative launched in 2002 by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and a key programme by the Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED) to promote all-round excellence among business entities.
At the Business Excellence Awards 2014, organised by DED, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council presented the honour to Saeed Khoory, Chief Executive Officer of ENOC.
This achievement is a testament to ENOC s efforts to establish best practices relating to leadership, human resource management, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), which defines the organisation s role in relation to the community and the environment.
Saeed Khoory said: "We are honoured to be a recipient of this award, which underscores our commitment to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum towards achieving Dubai Human Development goals.
"We strongly endorse the goals of Emiratisation as outlined by the U.A.E. Government and remain committed to the continual development of our employees, encouraging them to push the frontiers and set new benchmarks in excellence. It gives us great pride to be recognised as a role model and we are thankful that our efforts in pursuing global best practices in all spheres of business have been recognised. We owe our success to the support and dedication of our staff, customers, and partners." Khoory added: "The Dubai Human Development Appreciation Award will further lend momentum to our sustained focus on identifying and retaining the best talent within ENOC. The framework set by DHDA will provide us deep insights on various aspects of development and will further drive our ambition to be an employer of choice .
ENOC has launched several initiatives to attract, develop and retain UAE Nationals as part of its workforce, and has recorded a growth in Emiratisation from 30 to 36 per cent over the past three years.
The company has launched a dedicated ENOC National Development Programme with five proficiency levels - Tatweer, Tadreeb, Ajyaal, Mawaheb and Imtiaz. These programmes focus on developing the functional, behavioural, professional, managerial and leadership skills of ENOC s National workforce. ENOC has also launched a Technical Training Programme for Emiratis that aims to build their technical competencies. More than 110 UAE Nationals have gone through the Programme so far.
In addition to programmes that promote performance management, ENOC has introduced competency frameworks, competency-based developmental initiatives, employee wellness programmes, and also undertakes a series of CSR initiatives to promote the welfare of the community and safeguard the environment
