Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), will unveil tomorrow at 'Careers UAE 2015', short term and long term plans which will see it lead the way in the recruitment and development of young Emirati people.

The ‘Tourism Talent Incubator', will be a long-term industry familiarisation programme offered to all new Emirati graduate recruits to DTCM, with the first intake happening later in the year.

The modular plan will be designed to provide opportunities for graduates to obtain a broad experience of the tourism industry, enabling them to identify future career paths which suit their talents and preferences.

Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, commented: "With tourism a major pillar of Dubai's strategic economic diversification and central to the Dubai Plan 2021, the industry and its related sectors offer a wealth of employment opportunities for Emirati nationals, both within the government and the private sector. Through the launch and operation of the Tourism Talent Incubator, it is our aim to identify and nurture talented young Emiratis who can become the future of our industry and play key roles in the continued contribution of tourism to Dubai's growth. Currently in the ideation phase, the programme will be bench-marked against the training plans of other Dubai-organisations, and be developed with one objective in mind: to create the tourism leaders of our future."

Titled "ANA DUBAI" (Arabic for "I Am Dubai"), the campaign's short term focus is an increased presence at events and the placement of case studies within media outlets. The first event attended under this new scheme is Careers 2015, the UAE's leading recruitment, training and education exhibition. DTCM will be on stand (B6-2 Hall 6) and invite any Emirati nationals interested in a future within the tourism industry to visit the stand. Also present on the stand will be representatives from a number of hotels and attractions, to which Emirati candidates can apply for relevant positions.

In support of "I Am Dubai", an Instagram account has been established to profile Emiratis working in Dubai's tourism industry and related sectors. The account can be found on Instagram @AnaDubai.

Mariam Al Maeeni, Director of HR at DTCM, commented: "Our vision is to nurture and train Emiratis who will contribute to the growth of one of the city's most important industries and play a role in the build-up to EXPO 2020 and beyond. We are particularly looking to recruit young Emirati people as we believe there are no better ambassadors for our city than people who are born and raised here – they are the backbone of Dubai."
